Murat Aydın Kimdir?

1960 yılında Giresun’un Piraziz ilçesine bağlı Bozat beldesinde doğdu. 1980 yılında İstanbul İmam Hatip Lisesi’nden, 1985 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi İşletme Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Maliye Bölümü’nde “Yerel Yönetimlerde Farklı Yaklaşımlar ve Sosyal Belediyecilik Uygulamaları” konulu teziyle yüksek lisansını tamamladı.

1999, 2004, 2009 ve 2014 yerel seçimlerini kazanarak dört kez Zeytinburnu Belediye Başkanlığı görevine seçildi. 2019 yerel seçimlerinde de Beykoz Belediye Başkanı olarak seçilmiştir.

Türk Dünyası Belediyeler Birliği Başkan Yardımcısı ve Türkiye Fotoğraf Vakfı Başkanı olan Aydın uzun yıllardır fotoğraf sanatıyla ilgilenmektedir. 2011 yılında “Yeryüzünden Portreler”, 2018 yılında “An’a Tanıklık” isimli iki fotoğraf sergisi açmış ve birçok karma sergide fotoğrafları yer almıştır.

İngilizce bilen Aydın, evli ve iki çocuk babasıdır.

Who is Murat Aydın?

Murat Aydın was born in 1960 in Bozat town of Piraziz district of Giresun. He graduated from Istanbul Imam Hatip High School in 1980 and from Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration in 1985. He completed his master’s degree with his thesis on “Different Approaches in Local Governments and Social Municipality Practices” at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Finance.

He won the 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 Zeytinburnu mayoral elections four times in a row. In 2019, he also won the Beykoz mayoral election and elected as the Mayor of Beykoz.

Aydın, who is the Vice President of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and the President of the Turkish Photography Foundation (TFV), has been interested in the art of photography for many years. He opened two photography exhibitions titled “Portraits from the Earth” in 2011 and “Witnessing to the Moment” in 2018, and his photographs took place in many group exhibitions.

Aydın, who speaks English, is married and has two children.
